“From Trauma to Triumph: The Heartwarming Journey of a Rescued Dog Towards a Brighter Future”

While on her way, a real estate agent stumbled upon a site that seemed to be a dumping ground for dog fighters. She found a surprising sight – one of the canines was still alive!

While showing a property, Casey Lawrence, a Rock Hill real estate agent, stumbled upon a Pit Bull who was severely injured and left to die in the woods. The dog was likely used as a bait dog for dog fighting and was discarded by his abusers. He was found amongst bones and animal carcasses, left to fend for himself.

Luckily, Casey managed to locate the pooch, whom she christened Rambo, just in the nick of time! She hurriedly took him to Baxter Veterinary Clinic where the vets encountered a dog with multiple bite marks and cuts. Rambo was in a critical condition with gangrene-infected leg wounds.

The medical team at the clinic immediately began their efforts to rescue Rambo. They carefully and tenderly cleaned his wounds in an attempt to improve his chances of survival.

Rambo was administered antibiotics and IV, with close monitoring. Within 48 hours, he exhibited positive signs such as sitting up and wagging his tail slightly.

The vets were relieved when they noticed his eagerness for food, which also caught his attention.

Regrettably, Rambo’s condition is not yet stable. His right hind leg was severely damaged, resulting in its amputation. In light of the severity of his injuries, he was transferred to the Charlotte Animal Referral & Emergency (CARE) facility for additional medical assistance.

CARE shared on their Facebook page that Rambo, a dog, has experienced trauma on both of his hind legs, possibly caused by ties around his ankles. Despite the cruelty he has faced, Rambo remains a happy and affectionate pup, wagging his tail and giving kisses. The medical team is working to save his left leg, but its fate is uncertain at this time.

Every Life Matters Animal Rescue is providing assistance to Rambo as he recuperates. Luckily, Casey, who works as a realtor, is also a board member of the rescue. They posted a recent status update on YouCaring stating that Rambo had undergone his initial surgery and is currently recovering. While he was feeling a bit groggy due to the anesthesia, he was still able to sense the presence of those who care for him. Rambo even gestured with his paw for them to stay with him longer.

According to the rescue team, they are optimistic that the police will explore the area where Casey stumbled upon Rambo. Their hope is to uncover the identity of the individuals responsible for the illicit activities.

While waiting, Rambo’s saviors are hoping for his speedy recovery and remain optimistic. He is truly a fighter!
