At 22 Years Old, Chihuahua Pebbles, The Oldest Dog In The World, Passed Away, Garnering Tributes For The Music-Loving Pup.

Regrettably, Pebbles, who held the record for being the world’s oldest dog, passed away just five months before her 23rd birthday.

The Toy Fox Terrier’s passing was disclosed by Guinness World Records, with speculations that it was a natural demise.

The beloved canine spent her last moments in her South Carolina abode, surrounded by her caretakers Bobby and Julie Gregory, before peacefully departing.

Born on March 28, 2000, Pebbles’ owners only realized that their chihuahua had become the oldest dog in the world after TobyKeith was officially declared as such.

 

According to Julie, Bobby was lounging on the sofa when acquaintances and family members began sending texts and making phone calls about a 21-year-old dog acquiring the title, prompting her to inform Guinness World Records.

“After witnessing Toby Keith’s story being broadcasted all over the media, I submitted my application.”

Following Pebbles’ acquisition, the Toy Fox Terrier produced 32 litters in three separate instances with her dog companion, Rocky, who sadly passed away in 2017 at the ripe age of 16.

Living most of her life in Taylors, South Carolina, Pebbles was a highly energetic dog. Pebbles’ passing was announced by Julie and Bobby through a news release.

According to the couple, she found pleasure in listening to country music and being showered with affection. She relished experimenting with different cuisines, being pampered, and above all, experiencing the warmth of love.

They went on to say that Pebbles was unique in her own right, with her distinct personality and mannerisms. Having her as a pet and a part of the family was a true honor, as she was a one-of-a-kind companion that could never be replaced.

Everyone who met Pebbles adored her.

On Twitter, numerous followers of the departed canine conveyed their deep sadness at her demise, using the phrase “RIP Pebbles.”

Another person commented on how Pebbles may be resting in peace but they also questioned how anyone could keep up with the record for the world’s oldest dog, which seems to change constantly.
